Research at EB House Austria

LMT - Laboratory for Molecular Therapy

 

Mission


Causal therapy of Epidermolysis Bullosa can be only achieved by correcting the genetic cause and thereby the consequences of mutations on skin and mucous membranes. We are using up-to-date scientific knowledge in the area of gene therapy to reach this aim.

Currently we are investigating trans-splicing in cell culture and laboratory animals to provide a basis for human use. This aim will be reached by intensive collaboration with other leading research teams worldwide.

The Laboratory 


The laboratory featuring 100 square meters: The laboratory is equipped with cell culture, PCR room, main laboratory and other designated rooms, which have been equipped with up-to-date molecular-biology technology.

Currently 14 scientists are working in the LMT of the EB House Austria.
